Master Jackson 6 Dan
Master Teddy Jackson started his Martial Arts career in 1967, in Brooklyn New York’s Tang Dojo Shotakan Karate under Tom LePuppet and George Coffield. He entered the U.S. Air Force in 1972, during the ending of the Viet Nam War. He was stationed in England U.K. in 1975 where he began training in Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan under Master Youngman Lee. He earned his first dan black belt in 1977. He has won a number of U.S. and European championships in fighting, forms and weapons. After competing for a number of years, he began to focus more time on teaching, “I wanted to give something back”.
In 1983 he left the United KingdomTang Soo DoMoo Kuk Kwan Federation and joined the World Tang Soo Do Federation. While stationed in England, he assisted in the foundation of the Great Britain Tang Soo do, which today has over 6,000 students in England, Scotland and Wales.
He returned to the United States in 1987 and opened the First Central Coast Tang Soo Do dojang in Lompoc California, in 1988. Under the guidance of Master Jackson, the school was the first in the World Tang Soo Do Association to be awarded the “Presidential Physical Fitness Award” by President George Bush. Master Jackson retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1993 with honors. Master Jackson’s expertise is working with physically, mentally and/or emotionally challenged students; his motto is “Yes I Can”. He also excels in programs for weight loss; his motto is “Name it and you can claim it,” and how to cope with stress and its effect on the body.
